The expandable pipe plug, sometimes called inflatable pipe plug or just pipe plug, is made of reinforced rubber. It is used to seal gravity pipelines or to perform a leak test on pipelines. This testing plug is used in almost all pipelines, such as urban infrastructure that carry sewers and storm drains. In addition, it can also be used by companies to seal hydrocarbon pipelines such as oil, gasoline and natural gas.
Pipelines should be checked during installation. And while they are in service, they have to be accessible for inspection, repair or modification.

Inflatble pipe plug provided by PlugCo
The inflatable pipe plug, which is a type of expandable pipe plugs, is molded from rubber and is available as either a blank plug or a test plug. It is inflated pneumatically using a hand or foot pump, or a compressor on site. Each inflatable plug is designed to seal a number of pipe sizes and can withstand pressures up to 1.5 bar. They are typically available from 100 mm to 2200 mm.

How do we use Pipe Plug?–
For leakage test, we use the Pipe Plug to block the pipeline from both sides by two pieces of PP Model and then, filling the test water from the manhole to test the pipeline. Otherwise, the Pipe Plug is used to block the line and seal the pipe. You can check more details in our User Manual

How can we choose the suitable model of the Pipe Plug?–
We are choosing the suitable PP Model based on many criteria which are mainly: pipe size, media and back pressure. You can check all standard models from the above Technical Table.

Can we use one PP Model for many pipe sizes?–
PP Model is multi-size pipe plug which means that you can use one PP Model for many pipe sizes. For example, you can use PP6001600 for all pipe diameters between 600mm and 1600mm.
